Book	Pattern Language, Christopher Alexander et al. Ostensibly about architecture, this book sucked up the best of the 60s and delved into one topic -- how to lead your life.
Fiction	Lolita, Nabakov. Eurosnobbery has never been so amusing and passion never so desperately sad.
Surfing Instructor	Katie O'Brien From Malibu to Maui the irrepressible KT has taught me the importance of dripping salt water through the nasal passages
Ski resort	Vail. The town has to get awards for the George, German pubs & Sanctuary. Bob & Riffy descend in Jan. Jay introduces us to Larry Williams.
Best cameo	Michael Ellis puts in turns in Gaylord & sublets my Vail spot for Feb, holding off pressure from Jodi and Jay, Keilty spices up first houseparty/gets Shannon as payoff, as well as Simon Anstey, Suzie/Emily and Mum & Dad up in Edinburgh, Monica for a karaoke weekend

Artist	Kraka not only bears a passing resemblance to Rolf Harris but has proven himself on a par artistically as the frosties.com emblem designer.
Denver Party	Adam & Simon's gig, mainly due to the outstanding quality of the music and random newcomers, sneaks past Pearl St affairs and the Bitsy xmas do.
Frosties fan	Dale beats off the prematurely departed Doran
Healthy Activity	Bikram Yoga defeats surfing, swimming, snowboarding and soccer. Mental helf, innit.
Work Activity	Getting laid off way out there with no challengers in sight. David gets a special mention for winning this subaward two years straight.

Films	Not a vintage year for flics -- it's been more of a play year (Landscape of the Body handsomely winning that category) -- can only nominate Far From Heaven. Happiness was closer.
Stupid Hair Dye colour	Black, which was really a reaction to Killer Crimson
Comedy Late Night Device	Got to be the fog machine, pipping the laser at the post
Most amusing moment	A dead heat between the world's largest hair dryer in Edinburgh and the insane antics in the helicopter in Oakland, although special mention to the lunacy of Elizabeth's dogs entangling themselves and passers by on Downing St..
Most common weekend activity	Ash/Kim, Nick/Dani, Garrett/Kate, Jim/Liv -- no funerals (touch wood).
Unhealthy Friday morning food	A mere 50 feet from Pearl St palace, complete with 50s vehicles in the foreground, it's gotta be Chuck's
Most bizarro roommate	Kelley Kiefer steams home with no competition in sight. Perhaps some relation to Lindsay's taking the straight and narrow?
Vacation	The UK/Slovenia trip, beating off stern competition from Hawaii; punting in Cambridge, clubbing in London, festival in Edinburgh, train journeys, pubs, Baker St, dipping into the Med, crystal clear lakes, hikes in the Alps, wedding in former Tito palace. Life is still a holiday.
Frosties competition	Though Erica made a strong debut, Nick did an outstanding job on his weeding, Tartley made the odd interesting comment and flangio kept the photies coming, Allshiv.com walks away with the prize based on technical strengths (most viewed photies a winner) and regular updates.
